Project

Plant.
The wastewater treatment technology used at the Scott Base

and Intermittently Aerated Fixed-Bed. The process utilises
the best characteristics of the trickling filter technology
with those of the activated sludge.
Prefabricated in New Zealand, the STP was shipped to Antarctica
in two 20 ft containers and required only one week for installation,
including mounting of the roof structure.
The Plant has a capacity of 122 PE, operated in fully automatic
mode with the possibility of solids stabilization and dewatering.
This Plant was commissioned in October 2002
